Hiromi Stringer was born in Kyoto, Japan. Hiromi is an artist living and working in San Antonio, TX. Currently she is a drawing Lecturer at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
She was awarded the 2019-2020 Dedalus Foundation Master of Fine Arts Fellowship upon graduating from UTSA with an MFA in Art where she studied with multiple merit-based scholarships.
Stringer has exhibited at artpace, the Blue Star Contemporary,the McNay Art Museum, the Southwest School of Art, the University of Texas at San Antonio Art Gallery, Cinnabar art gallery, REM gallery, and grayduck Gallery (Austin, TX), among others.
In 2019. She is selected for the 2019-2020 Blue Star Contemporary Berlin Residency at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, Germany. She received a grand prize for Eyes Got It! 2014.
Her recent solo show at the Southwest School of Art, San Antonio, TX, Umeyama Time Teleportation Museum (UTTM), will be a traveling exhibition including the Nave Museum in Victoria, TX in 2020. A resident of the San Antonio area, her works are in public, corporate and private collections in Japan and the US. She is represented by Cinnabar Art Gallery, San Antonio, TX.
